Chromat brought technological fashion to New York City at its Spring 2016 show at NYFW on September 12. The collection as a whole is inspired by the idea that clothing should respond and adapt to the wearer. The brand collaborated with Intel on a dress and sports bra.

The dress and sportswear, powered by the Intel Curie Module, adapts to the wearer’s environment through sensory systems that detect body temperature, adrenaline and stress levels.
The Chromat Adrenaline Dress powered by Intel was designed in collaboration with Francis Bitonti, and is composed of 3-D printed panels and an interlinked, expandable carbon fiber framework. The dress mimics a fight-or-flight mode when the garment senses adrenaline. The Chromat Aeros Sports Bra is the first sportswear prototype built with Intel technology. The sports bra opens vents to cool down the body when it senses heat or sweat thanks to the Intel Curie module it is built with.
Becca McCharen founded Chromat in 2010 drawing on her theoretical background in architecture and urban design. The brand aims to continue its exploration of optimized fashion and wearable technology by elevating clothing and accessories with intelligent capabilities.
