Versace’s owner Capri Holdings picks new senior executives for Italian label

It's taken a few weeks for new Versace owner Capri Holdings, also the owner of Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo, to begin making changes to the Italian luxury label’s senior management team.

In the wake of the Capri's takeover of the Milan-based label last January, Versace chief financial officer, Donatello Galli, left the company just over a month ago. Galli, the former CFO of Prada, joined Versace in 2017. FashionNetwork.com learned from a source that he has been replaced by Nicolas Crespin, who was in charge of finance and operations for Michael Kors in the EMEA region for over ten years.

A new management team is leading Versace - Versace

Versace recently hired another senior manager with an American background: at the start of the year, Manlio Amorosi was appointed vice-president real estate and retail development for the label's monobrand stores. Amorosi formerly worked in London, developing the business of Coach and the Tapestry group’s brands, but he also worked for Michael Kors for four years, leading the label's monobrand store and retail concession expansion in Europe. Maxime Monfroy, who was in charge of Versace’s European retail development since 2015, joined Roberto Cavalli last January. Versace was contacted by FashionNetwork.com, but didn't wish to comment on the new appointments.

The Michael Kors group, renamed Capri Holdings, bought the Italian luxury label in early January for €1.83 billion, including the outstanding debt.
