Tom Pecheux revives purple for Yves Saint Laurent makeup

Purple is a major theme in Yves Saint Laurent's fall 2018 makeup collection, which features stunning essentials in dazzling boxes and tubes.

The 'Yconic Purple' line includes new products created by Tom Pecheux and longstanding YSL favorites in a range of new shades, offering modern looks that are more daring and feminine than ever.

The keystone of the collection is the limited-edition 'Couture Palette', which comprises five shades of eyeshadow and two brushes. Flirty purple, a signature color from the YSL archives, takes pride of place in the palette, which also offers sophisticated nude, midnight blue, earthy bronze and pristine white shades.

The 'Couture Blush' is a powder available in two shades: 'Nude Blouse' pink and 'Corail Rive Gauche' peach. A new essential, the 'Couture Highlighter' in a new 'Gold Pearl' shade can be used to add a little glow with its high-shine finish.

Another major innovation in the collection, 'Couture Chalks' will likely win over many beauty addicts. Housed in a black pouch, the new chalks offer a unique range of color for the eyes, lips, and cheeks. To be applied with a brush or a fingertip, they come in four colors: black, nude, copper, and red.

Three iconic products produced by the fashion and beauty house are also being launched in new shades: the 'Vinyl Cream' lip lacquer (in Beige Bounce and Purple Sound), the 'Rouge Pur Couture' lipstick (in Violine Désinvolte and Rouge Provocation), and the 'Laque Couture' nail polish (Violet Underground and Mauve Alternatif).

From August, products in the 'Yconic Purple' cosmetics line will be available from the YSL Beauty website and at other sales outlets for the brand.
