Roberto Cavalli to return in style on avenue Montaigne, Paris

Roberto Cavalli is strengthening its retail presence in Paris. The Italian luxury label is about to return to the renowned avenue Montaigne, where renovation work is well under way for a forthcoming store opening. The premises are located at number 58, not far from number 53, where the label's eponymous founder lavishly opened the first Cavalli flagship store in the French capital in 2007, followed two years later by another store at 261 rue Saint-Honoré.

In France, Roberto Cavalli also operates a monobrand store in Cannes and another in Saint-Tropez. Indeed, it was in Saint-Tropez, the Côte d’Azur jet set’s favourite haunt, that designer Roberto Cavalli, who has a strong connection with France, decided to open his very first monobrand boutique back in 1972.

Returning to avenue Montaigne, in premises formerly occupied by the S.T. Dupont luxury accessories brand, is a landmark moment for the Italian label which, since it was acquired in 2015 by the Clessidra investment fund, has embarked on a far-reaching relaunch plan. In 2017, with Gian Giacomo Ferraris at the helm, Roberto Cavalli managed to cut operational losses and stem the downward trend of its revenue, which reached €152.4 million, and is hoping to get back on the growth track this year.

The label has been busy with several projects in the last few months. In early October, Roberto Cavalli entered the luxury hotel sector, associating with Dubai-based DAMAC Properties, one of the Middle East’s largest luxury property developers, via the DICO International strategic investment division. The plan is to build five hotels in 10 years, the first of which is set to open in Dubai in 2023.

Also, Roberto Cavalli has entirely revamped its e-tail site, and creative director Paul Surridge has developed a new interior design for the label’s stores, which was unveiled with the opening of the Berlin flagship last summer. The new interior design will be featured also at the avenue Montaigne store, whose opening date is top-secret, as the label has for the time being declined to provide further details.
