New York-based fashion house 3.1 Phillip Lim has relaunched its men’s collection with a new reimagined look and business model.

After hitting pause on the line amid the Covid-19 pandemic, 3.1 Phillip Lim men’s is back with a focus on essential pieces that will be introduced in the form of capsules at the beginning of the appropriate season.

The collection includes four drops, dubbed “kits”, that will be introduced throughout the year starting with kit 1: a 12-piece kit inspired by “summer in the city”. The collection features versatile staples for the modern man in pops of print and color including t-shirts and pleated trousers, as well as accessories such as crossbody bags, backpacks, and messengers.

The campaign was shot on the streets of New York and embraces “31 hours in the city, day-to-night, work-to-play". From Chinatown for groceries to the JMZ train in Williamsburg, the campaign comes from a place of shared knowledge through art, culture, architecture and culinary experiences.

"When we were redesigning men’s, we wanted to go off instinct; what pieces felt essential to his wardrobe. It is a reboot and rebuilding of the  pieces he needs to create his perfect wardrobe. The kits are meant to be styled within each other. This is kit 1, kit 2 is dropping in the fall. Stay tuned,” said Lim.
