PVH Corp., the owner of Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, announced on Monday that its PVH Foundation has donated $1 million to Covid-19 relief.

Some $100,000 of the total donation will go to the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund created by the UN Foundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, benefitting the World Health Organization and other partners.

On top of its latest donation, PVH had also made a 2 million RMB ($275,000 USD) contribution to the Chinese Society of the Red Cross, as well as a $50,000 contribution to A Common Thread - the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund initiative providing support to members of the American fashion community impacted by the pandemic.

“As I work with our global leadership team to address a responsible plan forward for our business, how we execute it as good corporate citizens is an important part of our discussions,” said Manny Chirico, chairman and CEO of PVH.

“There is no roadmap for this crisis, but I know that at PVH we have strong values and connections to our communities.”

The donation marks the latest in a series of PVH's efforts to provide aid during the pandemic. Elsewhere, PVH has assisted in relief efforts by donating over 2 million units of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including isolation gowns, masks and face shields, to the Montefiore Health System in New York, while Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger have donated product in the U.S. and the Netherlands to support frontline healthcare workers.

Within the company, the PVH Foundation continues to match relief donations of U.S. and Canadian associates through its matching gift program, and PVH employees, who have suffered financially as a result of contracting Covid-19, can receive grants via the company's Associate Relief Fund.

PVH said it will make additional contributions to organizations that are addressing the needs of its global supply chain workforce as well as resiliency grants to local partners and community foundations addressing the needs of communities that are seeing some of the biggest impacts.

In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, PVH stores in North America and Europe were temporarily closed as of March 17.
