Oysho opens online shop in the US

Inditex’s lingerie and activewear brand is moving forward with its international expansion plans with the launch of an online shop in the US this Tuesday 15 October. The move takes the brand’s online presence to 11 countries.

The brand has entered the US market on 15 October - Oysho


Founded in 2001, Oysho has currently 670 stores in 59 countries, while its collection is available to purchase online in 147 countries. The online expansion is part of Pablo Isla’s plan to make all Inditex brands available online anywhere in the world by 2020.

Initially conceived as a lingerie label, Oysho has been gradually branching out into new categories and is making waves in the activewear sector thanks to a combination of performance fabrics and smart design. The increased emphasis on sportswear was further underlined when the brand launched Oysho Sport, introducing new collections specifically designed for different sports categories, such as running, yoga, boxing, tennis and water sports.

In the first half of the year, the chain saw sales increase by 3.8% to €301 million. This was the lowest revenue at an Inditex brand after Uterque, which posted sales of €52 million for the same period. Globally, Inditex reported a 7% rise in revenue to €12.82 billion.
