Neutrogena targets millennials with new skincare line

Neutrogena is helping millennials mitigate the result of their ‘skin sins' with its new beauty collection.

The skincare brand has unveiled ‘Neutrogena Bright Boost,' a beauty line designed to help millennials achieve more radiant complexions, in keeping with the current trend for bright, dewy skin. The move was sparked by the results of an online survey conducted by The Harris Poll.

"We uncovered that the majority of millennial women (84%) believe that healthy skin is glowing skin, and nearly 4 in 5 (78%) wish there were more products on the market that gently exfoliate skin," said Kerry Sullivan, Vice President of Neutrogena, US Skin Health at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc., in a statement.

Neutrogena tapped into its global network of female scientists to work on the line, which is designed to fight the dullness that can arise from common millennial lifestyle factors.

"We as women know what women need, so we designed these products with those needs in mind," explained Anna Rose, Principal Scientist, R&D Skin Health, Johnson & Johnson. "To counteract the 'skin sins' of our 20s, like late nights, lack of proper sunscreen use, poor food choices and even dehydration, we needed to look beyond simple formulations."

The collection -- which the brand claims can help to achieve brighter skin after one week of use -- comprises a ‘Resurfacing Micro Polish,' an ‘Illuminating Serum,' a ‘Gel Cream' and a ‘Facial Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30.' It boasts ‘Neoglucosamine technology,' a non-acid amino sugar exfoliant that helps to quicken surface cell turnover and reduce the appearance of fine lines by boosting the skin's natural renewal process.

Neutrogena isn't the only beauty brand to launch a line designed for millennial women -- last year, Dior Beauty rolled out a new anti-aging skincare line for women in their 30s, dubbed ‘Capture Youth'.
