Net-A-Porter unveils charity link-ups with McCartney, Marant and more for Women's Day

Net-A-Porter has unveiled its products in support of International Women’s Day on March 8 with 20 exclusive T-shirt designs. The collection launches on Friday.

Net-A-Porter

The luxe e-tailer is now in the third year of a partnership with Women for Women International and it said 100% of the proceeds from the products will be donated to the charity that helps women living in war-torn countries to rebuild their lives.

The new collection also comes on the retailer’s own 20th anniversary, hence it asking “20 iconic brands and female designers to submit designs”. Those taking part include Stella McCartney, Gabriela Hearst, Alexa Chung, Isabel Marant, Amina Muaddi, Carine Roitfeld, Jimmy Choo, Rotate, Bernadette, Rosie Assoulin, Staud, The Attico, The Range, The Frankie Shop, Ganni, Nanushka, Charlotte Tilbury, Cecilie Bahnsen, and Roxanne Assoulin, alongside a Net-A-Porter x Ninety Percent collaboration.

Each tee is meant to “reflect the designer’s personal interpretation of women’s empowerment and strength,” while the design of the Ninety Percent collab calls out all “Incredible Women”.

Designs include Attico’s Let Your Hair Down T-shirt inspiring women “to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin”, and Stella McCartney evoking “a sense of sisterhood and compassion,” featuring an illustration from her AW19 campaign “where women come together in mutual support and love of the earth”.

As mentioned, all of the proceeds will go to the Women for Women International charity that enrols women living in some of the world’s most dangerous places on a year-long training program where they learn about their rights, health, a vocational skill and form a support network of women with similar experiences. It has helped over half a million women since 2003.

The retailer also said that its previous product collabs in 2018 and 2019 raised enough to support over 300 women through the charity’s training program.
