Mr Porter MD leaves, no replacement announced

Mr Porter’s MD Toby Bateman has left the group, it emerged late on Monday. His departure from the menswear site has come shortly after the company announced a raft of executive appointments including Nicola Brandolese having joined womenswear site Net-A-Porter as its MD.

No replacement has been announced yet but parent company Yoox Net-A-Porter said the group looks forward to continuing to grow the Mr Porter business. 

The company hasn’t announced an official reason for Bateman’s exit but wished him well and highlighted the achievements he and his team have made during his almost-10-years at the company,

And there’s no denying that Bateman has been a lynchpin at Mr Porter, which is YNAP’s flagship luxury menswear e-tail site.

He joined the operation in 2010 in preparation for the Mr Porter launch the following year and took the top job at the site in 2015. Since then Mr Porter has firmly established itself as a major player in luxury menswear, being a key forum for exclusive launches and collaborations, as well as adding special services for high-spending customers. It also unveiled its own Mr P brand.
