Moynat’s new CEO snatched from Sephora

Published
Feb 10, 2020

Moynat’s management is undergoing some changes with the appointment of Lisa Attia as its CEO. The historic French leather goods and trunk maker, founded in 1849, was bought by the Arnault Group in 2010. Attia, who has over 10 years' experience at LVMH, will take up her new role in early March, a spokesperson from the Arnault group confirmed.

The new CEO will succeed Guillaume Davin, who formerly occupied the position. Davin had been at Moynat for 10 years, overseeing its leather goods revival, and who left for Japan to take over as the director of Loewe, another LVMH leather goods and ready-to-wear brand. Before arriving at Moynat, he was the vice-president of Louis Vuitton in Japan.

Since the end of 2016, Attia had been at Sephora, the LVMH-owned beauty brand, where she was the senior vice president of merchandising and image for Europe and the Middle East. After graduating from Pierre and Marie Curie University with a degree in chemistry, she spent most of her career in the luxury and retail sector. She was notably at LVMH’s Bon Marché, where she served in different roles, until finally becoming the commercial director for a five-year period.

The arrival of the new CEO marks a new chapter for Moynat and its evolution. The luxury handbag brand, whose artistic director Ramesh Nair was formerly at Hermès, has approximately 20 points of sale in the world.
