Canadian outerwear brand Moose Knuckles has appointed former design director of Tom Ford and Burberry, Joseph McGee as their new VP of Women’s Design.

Likewise, the company named Terence Bogan as its chief merchant, reinforcing the brand’s focus on understanding and serving the consumer, via seamlessly integrated design and merchandising teams.

After two years with Tom Ford, McGee will join the team to help expand Moose Knuckles global women's business. He will also play a large role in the visual direction and styling of Moose Knuckles’ visual campaigns, beginning with the SS21 collection.

The company said that “McGee's efficacy in designing women's apparel that's simultaneously sporty and sexy” make him a perfect fit for the brand, while “his penchant for beautiful and innovative designs, coupled with his severe obsession for craftsmanship and detail blend perfectly with Moose Knuckles' positioning in the industry.”

Prior to joining Tom Ford, McGee was at Burberry, where he helped introduce a “see now, buy now” concept which disrupted the standard design/production process to make pieces of a collection available for purchase almost immediately after they show.

"We are incredibly excited to have Joseph join the design team. Joseph's background in global luxury fashion will provide the strong expertise required for this role as we look to grow our womenswear business significantly,” said Noah Stern and Ayal Twik, co-chief executive officers.

"I'm thrilled to join a brand with such a strong understanding of who their customer is and to continue to build on the magnetic, self-aware, and fearless qualities of the Moose Knuckles woman. Women's outerwear design is an exciting category that will continue to see substantial growth in the coming years,” added McGee.

Meanwhile, Bogan will be responsible for developing and directing merchandising strategies that amplify McGee and the rest of the design team's work through wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.

Their work will debut with the Fall/Winter 2021 collection.
