Marks and Spencer teams up with sustainable designer Livia Firth

Published
Oct 8, 2015

The sustainable designer and founder of the consultancy Eco-Age is putting together a capsule edit of M&S’s autumn collection to highlight the retailer’s ethical business model.

The partnership marks the retailer's commitment to sustainable fashion - M&S

The pieces selected were produced in a specifically accredited factory or made of sustainably sourced materials, and make a range of wardrobe essentials. The collection, which includes two looks for the office, one for the evening and a weekend outfit, will be on sale from October 8 in 13 M&S stores.

Livia Firth said: “I am so excited to finally be partnering with a high street retailer and it was very clear to us why it had to be M&S. I have very much admired the astonishing work that M&S has done over the years - seriously, transparently and with huge commitment throughout the whole company - in both environmental and social justice.”

Further key garments handpicked by the designer and assessed by Eco-Age are coats, jeans, jersey pieces and a day dress.

The collaboration highlights Marks and Spencer’s commitment to sustainable fashion and integrity . The retailer’s award-winning programme Plan A, launched in 2007, has helped the company send no waste to landfill and become carbon neutral.
