Los Angeles, Mr Porter launches its collection in the glory of America

This Wednesday evening in Los Angeles, the temperature was ideal. 80°F. A perfect day to organize Mr Porter in America's launch party, an exclusive collection signed Mr Porter, in association with 40 American ready-to-wear brands.

The event took place in the Bel-Air district, where a huge villa with incredible multi swimming pools and a view of Los Angeles awaited 300 guests. The latter indulged on whiskies and spicy pizzas...despite the absence of the actual collection. 
 
This comes five months after the arrival of Mytheresa.com in Los Angeles, another online luxury platform, which recently celebrated its successful development in the United States. Mr. Porter is also keen to shine on the American market.


Polite Worldwide is part of Mr Porter in America's collection


To make a success of its new Mr Porer in America campaign, the British company, via its sales director Sam Kershaw, has selected forty brands made in California, a selection that includes labels that are already well established, such as Tom Ford and his cowboy or perfecto silhouettes, James Perse and his knitted cardigans, or The Elder Statesman, whose series of sweaters and cashmere plays with rainbow stripes.
 
Among the 40 names, let's also note the presence of the Californian brand Rhude. The brand founded by Rhuigi Villasenor, also creative director of the Bally house, creates jackets, track jackets and pants, labeled with chic coats of arms, wine labels, and other LA known labels for Mr Porter.

Other labels included in the collaboration are Enfants Riches Déprimés, General Admission, John Elliott and Gallery Dept with its collection of fun, recycled bathrobes.

In total, the collaboration includes more than 600 pieces, with brands specializing in accessories, such as eyewear by Jacques Marie Mage or jewelry by Luis Morais. The collab also features emerging brands with atypical universes, such as Camp High, a label launched by Greg Dacyshyn and Greg Johnsen, two streetwear veterans and Supreme and Burton alums. Also part of the collection are the brands Polite Worldwide which celebrates the city through its designs and Reese Cooper, who attended the launch party and was delighted to be associated with this collaboration. "Mr Porter is the first online platform that distributed my very first collection. Their boldness and support has allowed me to develop my brand quietly and surely."
 
Relevant and eclectic, the "Mr Porter in America" collection succeeds in the nice challenge of bringing together a wide range of contemporary design from Los Angeles. Something we would have loved to see come together during the recent LA Fashion Week.

On Tuesday November 1, Mr Porter will continue its trip in America with a new event in Miami.
