Kendall Jenner appointed as creative director of Revolve’s FWRD

Model and reality TV star Kendall Jenner is taking on a new role as the creative director of online fashion boutique Forward (FWRD), owned by LA-based Revolve Group.

In her new position, Jenner will be responsible for the platform’s overall look and feel and will be tasked with curating the brands sold on the site, as well as monthly trend edits. She will also come up with marketing ideas and oversee brand partnerships and activations.

Jenner will step into the role during this season’s New York Fashion Week, which kicks off on September 8. As explained by Revolve, the partnership between the model and FWRD will capitalize on their shared fashion-forward outlook and their common Los Angeles roots.

Jenner certainly has experience as a trendsetter, having contributed to the rise of athleisure, cycling shorts and revealingly minimalist cardigans, among other styles, since she first came to the public’s attention as a cast member on seminal reality TV series Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

As she prepares for her new role at FWRD, Jenner has said that she is “excited to curate the site’s offering with emerging designers and brands,” suggesting that the future of the platform will involve a focus on up-and-coming labels.

“Kendall as the creative director for FWRD is the perfect choice as we continue to invest
in the next generation luxury consumer,” commented Revolve Group co-CEO and co-founder Michael Mente in a release. “Her multifaceted experience in the fashion industry and the vision she has outlined for the FWRD business has the potential to transform our business and the luxury business as a whole.”

“Kendall is the epitome of luxury fashion, and there isn’t a better fit for this position,” added Revolve Group’s chief brand officer, Raissa Gerona.
