IMG announced on Tuesday the winners of the Australian Fashion Laureate 2022, an awards ceremony honouring individuals who have played a significant role in the growth and cultural impact of Australian fashion.

Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman, of fashion label Camilla & Marc, took home the Designer of the Year award - Camilla & Marc

Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman, of fashion label Camilla & Marc, took home the Designer of the Year award, while Lesleigh Jermanus, of Alémais, was named Emerging Designer of Year.

Clothing the Gaps' Laura Thompson was named Indigenous Designer of the Year, while the Sustainable Innovation of the Year award went to Sarah Munro and Robert Sebastian Grynkofki, of fine jewellery brand, Sarah and Sebastian.

The Carla Zampatti Award for Excellence in Leadership award was given to Leila Naja Hibri, chief executive of the Australian Fashion Council, and the People's Choice Award went to fashion designer, Rebecca Vallance.

Lastly, Ken Done took home the Australian Fashion Laureate for Lifetime Achievement.

“For fifteen years, the Australian Fashion Laureate has provided an important platform to showcase the depth and expertise of the Australian fashion industry,” said Natalie Xenita, vice president-managing director of IMG’s fashion events and properties, Asia-Pacific.

“It’s a privilege to honour the exceptional talent of today’s winners and nominees and reflect on and celebrate the collective achievements of our industry in the company of esteemed peers.”

Australian Fashion Laureate winners were determined by a panel of industry leaders comprised of Australian Fashion Laureate alumni, fashion journalists, stylists, communications professionals, and top retail executives.
