Hearst Netherlands appoints new commercial director

Published

Hearst Netherlands named Vincent Siegelaar as its new commercial director. The appointment will be effective from 1 January 2019, succeeding Linda Boks, who has led the commercial team on an interim basis since March of this year.

In his new role, Siegelaar will be responsible for all the commercial activities of Hearst Netherlands, including multimedia brands Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Elle Decoration, Elle Food, Glamour, Jan, Women's Health, Esquire, National Geographic, Men's Health, Quest and Quote.

Vincent Siegelaar, incoming commercial director at Hearst Netherlands, said: “In the role of commercial director, I will focus on the further development of cross-media and digital acceleration of the beautiful Hearst brands. I am particularly looking forward to work on this great portfolio, together with my new colleagues.”

Luc van Os, CEO at Hearst Netherlands, added: “I am pleased that Vincent will strengthen our team from the beginning of January. I think that for a commercially experienced man like Vincent, there are enormous opportunities to market our brands in this time of ever-increasing digitization. I am convinced that Vincent is the right man in the right place for this job.”

Prior to joining Hearst Netherlands, Siegelaar held various commercial positions at publisher Sanoma, which is also the owner of e-tailer Fashionchick. In addition to his roles with publishers, Siegelaar is also a board member at the Stichting Ideële Reclame (SIRE), a foundation that creates nationwide campaigns on social issues in the Netherlands.

Hearst Netherlands is part of the New York City-based Hearst Corporation. In October 2017, Hearst Netherlands acquired the Dutch branch of Gruner + Jahr Media, adding brands such as Vogue Nederland and Designer Vintage to its portfolio. Hearst Netherlands is the local market leader within the millennials, men's and luxury sectors.
