Happy Socks pays tribute to Andy Warhol with limited-edition capsule

Published

Stockholm-based sock brand Happy Socks has teamed up with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts to produce a capsule collection incorporating the iconic pop artist’s work and honoring his legacy.

The limited-edition capsule features six sock styles - Photo: Happy Socks

The limited-edition collection includes six sock styles featuring patterns drawn from Warhol’s iconic screen prints, such as Banana – used as the cover for seminal album of the 60s The Velvet Underground & Nico –, Flowers, Cow and Dollar Sign. The capsule also offers two pairs of men’s trunks and two pairs of women’s seamless underwear.

The color palette channels Warhol’s punchy energy with vibrant electric blues, hot pinks and bright yellows, as well as rich crimsons and high-contrast black.

The capsule is the latest in a long line of collaborative collections produced by Happy Socks to pay tribute to a wide range of creative superstars from diverse entertainers including The Beatles and Pharrell Williams to interior designer and fashion icon Iris Apfel.

The brand’s licensing partner on this occasion, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, was founded in 1987 in accordance with the artist’s will and puts proceeds from licensing projects into its endowment, from which it distributes grants to support contemporary visual art.

The Andy Warhol x Happy Socks capsule is available to purchase now in the brand’s concept stores, on its website, and at selected retailers.

Socks are priced at $14 a pair, men’s trunks at $26 and women’s underwear at $22. Four sock styles are available in a gift box set selling for $56, while both the men’s and women’s underwear can also be purchased as a two-pack.
