Gucci signs up to Milan Fashion Week Men's

Gucci has championed the co-ed fashion show concept since 2017, but the Italian fashion brand is changing tack this January.

The luxury label is set to host a menswear catwalk show on the final day of Milan Fashion Week Men's on January 14, Gucci confirmed to FashionNetwork.com

The move is widely perceived as an act of solidarity with Milan Fashion Week, with the president and CEO of Gucci Marco Bizzarri reportedly telling the president of the Camera della Moda Carlo Capasa in a letter: "Milan Fashion Week is a central event in the fashion world's calendar and confirms Italy's fundamental role -- for creativity and manufacturing alike -- in the luxury sector."

The Camera Nazionale della Moda (the National Chamber of Italian Fashion) announced back in July that it was changing its approach to Milan Fashion Week timetables, rotating the show slots of famous houses to offer a more balanced calendar.

The co-ed fashion show has become popular over recent years, with Burberry, Coach, Bottega Veneta, Giorgio Armani and Gucci among some of the major houses to take up the trend.
