Graduate Fashion Week teams up Little Black Dress for design competition

Published
May 26, 2017

The UK's Graduate Fashion Week has partnered with online womenswear retailer Little Black Dress for the upcoming June edition.

Alesha Dixon has also recently launched a collection with Little Black Dress

The collaboration will see Little Black Dress sponsor a unique design competition, offering a winning graduate the chance to have their creation worn by GFW ambassador Alesha Dixon to a high-profile red carpet or TV event.

The womenswear retailer is looking for designs that encapsulate Alesha’s personal style in a couture creation, both expressing creativity and fashion flare. Little Black Dress’ winner will also demonstrate skills key to the fashion industry through detailing their creative process, technical specifications, pattern cutting, prototyping and a marketing plan around the finished product.

A judging panel of Dixon, journalist and GFW trustee Hilary Alexander, and Little Black Dress CEO Mark Evans selected a shortlist of graduates on 11 May, and the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on 7 June.

Graduate Fashion Week will take place on 4-7 June at the Old Truman Brewery in London.
