German designer Philipp Plein presented his autumn-winter 2017-2018 campaign on Friday June 9, focused on diversity and the spirit of New York. To embody these values, the house turned to ex-inmate Jeremy Meeks, who has become a social media star.

Philipp Plein's autumn-winter 2017 campaign

Philipp Plein's autumn-winter 2017 campaign is directly inspired by the house’s New York runway show, presented last February in New York. It is an ode to the singular spirit of the Big Apple, but also to diversity, strength and individuality.

To embody this new collection, the brand called on Geron McKinley, Amandine Renard, Amilna Estevao, Avie Acosta and Jeremy Meeks, the former inmate who became a model thanks to a photo posted on the web. As a reminder, Jeremy Meeks made his debut at Fashion Week last February for the fall-winter 2017 runway show of Philipp Plein.

The campaign takes the form of a collage of bold images, created in collaboration with graphic artist Joerg Zuber, and includes photographs taken during the house’s New York runway show, on the catwalk and off of it. It is one way to highlight diversity and show that New York breaks all barriers, whether residents come from the Bronx, Queens, Chelsea or the Upper East Side.

In the same spirit, the collection focuses on t-shirts, coats, dresses and accessories with slogan messages. One can read "Neighborhood Kings" and "I Love New York", and discover several interpretations of the American flag.
