Florence By Mills, CeraVe and Glossier have been dubbed the three hottest beauty brands of 2022, according to a report published by online beauty discovery platform, Cosmetify.

To find the hottest beauty brands of 2022, Cosmetify explored the 100 most searched beauty brands in the world, and ranked them on Instagram followers, Instagram engagement, Instagram mentions, Google searches and change in searches.

In the report, a number of beauty brands were also recognized for being on the rise, while others appear to be on their way out. Kiko Milano, Charlotte Tilbury and Isadora were recognized as the rising stars of beauty, whereas the brands losing popularity include BH Cosmetics, Foreo and Palmer’s.

Cosmetify equally took a look at which were the most popular beauty products that Cosmetify users searched for in 2022. The most searched product was Olaplex’s No.3 Hair Perfector, followed by Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, and Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Beauty

The report also highlighted the brands with the biggest social presence. Topping the list was Huda Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and MAC Cosmetics. And to shop these brands and fan-favourite products, the platform named Sephora, followed by Ulta Beauty and Sally Beauty, as the US’ hottest beauty retailers.

“Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, online retailers have seen a huge increase in sales, leaving stand-alone retailers to suffer. We wanted to explore a new avenue this year, by exploring which beauty retailers are the most popular in 2022,” explained Cosmetify.

“We ventured into using a range of factors, this time including organic web traffic for each retailer’s website in the last year, Instagram followers, hashtag mentions, and engagement rates.”

Lastly, in terms of influencers, the report highlighted James Charles, Mari Maria, and Bretman Rock, as the top 3 most powerful beauty influencers, with James Charles recognized as the highest earning beauty influencer earning over $288,967 across YouTube and Instagram.

The Cosmetify Index was first introduced three years ago and aims to present a rundown of everything beauty.
