Cambridge Satchel Co opens Covent Garden pop-up

The Cambridge Satchel Co has just opened the doors of a pop-up store in London’s Covent Garden, the location that hosted its first-ever store back in 2013.

The new shop is in Ione of London’s most visited shopping neighbourhoods and is a magnet for the increasing number of tourists being seen in the city. It will stay open for three months.

Situated at Royal Opera House 7, North Piazza Arcade, the store has opened at the start of the busiest shopping season of the year, coming in time for both Black Friday and the general festive shopping season. 

The company said it “hopes to echo the area’s blend of the heritage and the modern within its brightly coloured space at the famous Piazza”.

The brand was behind the revival of the satchel and is known for made-in-Britain products. It was recently acquired by French group Chargeurs.

The shop offers the label’s classic styles in both core and seasonal colours, from its varied leather satchel range to more recent handbag styles such as The Isla and The Mini One Buckle, as well as new tweed and lattice pattern designs. It also stocks the brand’s premium Cambridge Collection featuring The Doctor’s Bag, The Sophie and most recently The Mini Sophie. 

And it will soon be debuting its brand-new Matilda collaboration, featuring a selection of brightly-coloured satchels embossed with classic Quentin Blake illustrations, supporting the release of Matilda The Musical on Netflix. The bags will be available to purchase within the store from early December.
