Bonobos names golfer Justin Rose as apparel ambassador

Published
Jan 5, 2019

Justin Rose, the current number 2 ranked golf player in the world, has signed onto a new golf apparel deal with Bonobos Golf for 2019, becoming the brand's new ambassador.

This new partnership comes days after the English golfer entered into a multi-year, 10-club partnership with Japanese golf brand Honma Golf, and marks Bonobos' first official sponsorship of a professional golfer.

CEO of Bonobos, Micky Onvural, told Gold Digest that she has plans "to reinvigorate its golf category [and] bring fresh thinking and new innovation to the entire golf market" with golf bottoms featuring polyester and poly-blend fabrics infused with UPF 50 sun protection, as well as shirt gripper waistbands that guarantee "a clean tuck."

Launched in 2011, Bonobos was acquired by Walmart in 2017. Prices for the brand's men's golf apparel typically range from $88-$128 for pants, $68 to $88 for shorts and $68 to $128 for shirts and sweaters.

Prior to Bonobos, Rose has been sponsored by Adidas apparel and TaylorMade equipment.
