Acne Studios unveils first full range of bags

Swedish fashion house Acne Studios introduced on Tuesday its first full range of Italian-made bags and purses, available exclusively in Acne stores worldwide and on its website.

The collection will be priced from 300 to 1400 euros - Acne Studios

The first collection features three styles including Buckle jeans, which draws inspiration from Champagne buckets; Hero jeans, which takes the Bucket style and turns it into a rectangular shopper bag; and the Rope styles, born from the Fall/Winter 2015 collection.

“For me a bag is more than an object, it’s a personaI thing. When I started looking at bags, the intention was not to do an 'it-bag', but to explore the world of bags and create different styles and characters. I really enjoy designing bags since it’s so sculptural, almost like creating a piece of art,” said Acne Creative Director, Jonny Johansson, in a statement.

Further styles in canvas and leather will be released in mid-January.

2015 has been an eventful year for the Swedish luxury company, which also launched its first eyewear collection earlier in April and collaborated with artist Peter Schlesinger on a book. In addition to Acne Studios’ brand extension, the retailer has opened new stores in Copenhagen, Berlin and New York.
