The Future of Loungewear: Ochna - Fall/Winter 2019 (Geraldine Wharry)

Published
Feb 17, 2017

University of Brighton Fashion Design Students

In the Fall of 2016 I had the pleasure of collaborating as guest tutor with the University of Brighton Fashion department  and their second year students on their Trend module.

The forecasts were for Autumn Winter 2019 and had to not only envision the future of fashion, but also create a future brand. In this report discover the Future of Loungewear for Autumn Winter 2019 as envisioned by students Vee Hayward, Stef McHenry, Jenni Mellor and Annabel Ballance.

“OCHNA 2019” embodies a future loungewear brand epitomising ethical and sustainable values, made of natural dyes from recycled flowers. The group not only created a compelling and thought provoking presentation with stunning visuals and research references, they also developed a textile hand dying technique with petals gathered from local florists, encompassing the idea of no-waste mixed with body empowerment.

Discover the full report and extensive research in the link below.
