Telegraaf Media Groep (TMG), the publisher of Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, announced that is has become the owner of International Fashion Week BV, the organization behind the biannual event, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. TMG believes that the acquisition enriches its current portfolio which includes brands such as newspaper De Telegraaf, lifestyle magazine Vrouw and free daily newspaper Metro.

The publisher will establish a new online fashion platform, which aims to build a stronger connection between Amsterdam Fashion Week and the fashion industry. TMG’s network and position in the Dutch media industry should contribute to the success of the platform and its reach.

Specific information regarding Amsterdam Fashion Week and its new platform has not yet been revealed. However, TMG announced that the 25th edition of the biannual fashion week, to be held 1-11 July 2016, will focus on young talent.
