Swedish menswear brand A Day's March in UK entry, plans Europe growth

Published
May 21, 2018

Four-year-old Swedish menswear brand A day’s March is planning a major assault on the European market following its UK debut last month with the company having opened in London's buzzing Soho area.

A Day's March

Its entry into the UK may have happened at what is one of the worst times ever for the fashion retail sector, but it also comes as premium menswear continues to show stronger growth than the market as a whole.

The store is at number 39 Berwick Street, the road not far from Carnaby Street and Oxford Street, and the store is the neighbour of another menswear brand Universal Works.

The brand was founded in 2014 by Marcus Gårdö, Pelle Lundquist and Stefan Pagreus and has four other locations, but all of these are in its home market, Sweden.

The company is using real estate advisor Harper Dennis Hobbs (HDH), which helped it find the Soho store, as it formulates plans for rolling out further into Europe.

The brand, which is inspired by classic American and Italian menswear, as well as by sports fashion and military looks, chose the UK for its first international store due to the large number of British consumers accessing the brand via its website.

It's unknown exactly how many stores it's planning for in total, but the numbers are unlikely to be large. The UK should see only around two more, and while more will open across Europe as a whole, the founders have already said that they're not planning for a large chain.
