Quiz to test menswear with capsule collection, standalone site

Published
Apr 16, 2018

Fast-Growing UK women’s fashion retailer Quiz is dipping its toe into the menswear pool with the launch of quizman.com, which is a standalone site but doesn’t yet represent a full-scale commitment to the category. The company said it has been designed “to trial a capsule collection of fast-fashion menswear.”

It added that with the “growing success of [its] occasionwear and dressy casual wear for women, [it] is launching its first ever capsule collection of menswear for men who want a transitional day-to-evening look.”

The new collection offers a selection of items including shirts, blazers, denim, trousers and smart outfits. It has been overseen by QuizMan buyer Harry Butt, former buyer for menswear chain Slaters.

To support the launch, there will be dedicated social channels where consumers can get style inspiration and see new product.

The company hans’t given a specific launch date but said it will be available “soon” with prices starting from £14.99.

The move makes sense given he strength of the menswear market at present and comes as a large number of formerly womenswear-only labels are diving into the category. At the high end that mean names like Céline, while at the more affordable end of the market, Quiz clearly sees a major opportunity.

The company has been growing its sales at a strong rate in recent periods and only last week announced “strong omnichannel growth across UK and international markets.” Sales in its latest year rose 30% and online sales rose 158%.
