Pure joins forces with Textile Forum for first sourcing event

Published
Jan 25, 2018

Luxury fashion fabric fair Textile Forum will curate a fabric pavilion within Pure London’s new sourcing event Pure Origin this February as part of a new collaboration between the trade fairs.

The pavilion fill host a number of premium fabric suppliers, who will be showing their latest collections and demonstrating several bespoke and customisation capabilities.

Silks, printed cottons, corduroys, linen mixes, imitation furs and natural leathers will be on show by James Hare, Pongees, Anbo Textiles, G H Leathers and Bernstein & Banleys.

Additionally, two womenswear designers will be interviewed by Textile Forum’s Linda Laderman as part of the Pure Origin seminar programme.

Taking place on 11-13 February, Pure Origin will be held at Olympia alongside Pure London and Pure Man. It was announced in October last year, and aims to create a gateway for international manufacturers to break into the UK market.

Over 60 manufacturers from around the world will be exhibiting, including Handloom Export Promotion Council members from India, Impromundi from Morocco, Confenix, LaGofra and Ribeiro & Matos from Portugal.

Julie Driscoll, Managing Director at Pure London, said: “We are delighted to link with Textile Forum and offer our Pure Origin visitors, including heads of sourcing and buying, technical directors and supply chain managers, the opportunity to meet leading fabric suppliers and discuss their requirements face-to-face.”

“Sourcing the right fabric, in terms of colour, design and price, is key to the success of a designer’s collection and more and more are looking for unique cloths to help create the differentiation from competitors,” added Linda Laderman, co-founder of Textile Forum.

“Investment in new technology, such as digital printing for instance, means designers do not necessarily have to commit to huge volume orders to get the exclusivity they want. Additionally, a growing percentage now have transactional websites so that buyers can purchase fabric online, often for next day delivery.”

More than 800 brands will be showcasing at Pure London next month, with over 10,000 UK and international visitors expected to join the event.
