Première Vision Shanghai stopped, before a complete revamp

Published
Mar 26, 2015

The Chinese event Première Vision was set to be held from April 14-15, but the edition has been canceled and replaced with a series of professional meetings as part of Shanghai Fashion Week. A completely overhauled version of the show has been announced for October.

Première Vision Shanghai

"We will unveil the concept for the new event in the coming months," said Guglielmo Olearo, the group’s international exhibitions director, referring to his desire to maintain the event in Shanghai. "Première Vision Paris has an unmatched reputation among China’s top brands. The February 2015 edition (in Paris, ed) was once again marked by an increased number of buyers. But we also believe that it’s important to continue to bring excellence in fabrics to China."

The decision to suspend the Chinese edition fits into the organizer’s thinking, which it explained last year. Since October 2013, FashionMag.com echoed Première Vision’s desire for reorganization. "For 2015, there will be new developments," said Olearo. "I think we will be overhauling the event - redesigning the format to offer something more suitable."

In anticipation of the event’s facelift, Première Vision Shanghai won’t be entirely absent from the Chinese metropolis. Première Vision Live, organized in partnership with Shanghai Fashion Week, will be held on April 13. Held at One Xintiandi, professionals will be invited to meetings focused on textile innovation and exceptional savoir-faire.

Besides a focus on trends for spring-summer 2016, the event will offer a dive into the world of jacquard weaves with Première Vision’s associate fashion director Sabine Le Chatelier. Intended as a showcase of the organizer’s expertize, the event will also present the work of the Chinese designer Rachelle Jim as well as Donghua University’s fashion department.

The latest edition of Première Vision Shanghai, held from October 21-22, brought together nearly 70 exhibiting companies.
