PFW: Roger Vivier, is this as Goude as it gets?

Published
Mar 7, 2017

It is never a dumb idea is it, to hire Jean-Paul Goude. As Roger Vivier amply demonstrated this week as the iconoclastic artist incorporated the latest ideas from Roger Vivier’s shoe designer Bruno Frissoni into a memorable video wall.

Plus, the footwear wasn’t half bad either. Particularly the striking Flower Patch or Wall Flowers ranges, where a cloud of dahlias and crystal roses climb up boots, or a botanical arrangement covers high-top sneakers with ornate rococo buckles.

“I liked the idea of combining the baroque quality of their shoes and bags in this installation. Plus, I always want to make a video where an evening clutch sang!” laughed Goude, standing before the four-meter high video walls at the presentation in Espace Cambon.

In a word, the insiders’ vote for the presentation of the week has to go to Roger Vivier.
