Nike appoints Amy Montagne new VP, GM of Global Categories

Nike Inc. announced on Monday the appointed of Amy Montagne as the new vice president and general manager of global categories.

Nike appoints Amy Montagne new VP, GM of Global Categories. - Nike

The 13-year Nike veteran was most recently vice president and general manager of the Global Nike Women’s category. Prior to that, she was vice president and general manager of Global Merchandising and also held positions of increasing responsibility in North America, Women’s Training and Sportswear.

In her new role, she will report directly to Michael Spillane, president of Categories & Product.

“Amy is a proven leader with deep experience in driving successful strategies across our organization,” said Spillane. “In her new role, we believe she is the right leader to drive Nike’s Category Offense.”

The appointment comes following a period of upheaval at Nike, which included alleged complaints of workplace misconduct the company is currently investigating.

Montagne will take Jayme Martin’s position, who exited Nike last month, along with several other senior managers at the company.

Nike has since been looking to hire more women to senior management roles at the company.

Montagne is the second woman the company has elevated to a management position in the past week. Kellie Leonard was named Nike’s first-ever chief diversity and inclusion officer on Friday.
