Jewellery, textile exports hit by global slump

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - The global slump was affecting the Indian jewellery, textile and leather exports, the minister of state for trade said in a written reply to parliament on Wednesday 22 July.

Jyotiraditya Scindia also said the country is unlikely to attain the annual export target of $200 billion for 2009/10 (April/March).
"There is presently no proposal to bring any new tax structure for exporters at this point of time," he added.
