Jan 12, 2017

Streetwear wunderkind Gosha Rubchinskiy has launched his first foray into the eyewear world. First seen at Rubchinskiy’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection at Pitti Uomo, the designers new sunglasses collection will be made in partnership with FUTURE by Retrosuperfuture.

Five different sunglasses in two different silhouettes will be offered in the sunglasses collab, all inspired by retro silhouettes. All of the shades are crafted in acetate, and are finished in a range of vintage-inspired hues, like pale yellow lenses and tortoiseshell frames. As per the rest of Rubchisnkiy’s collections, the designers are very much influenced by 90’s skatewear and youth culture from his Soviet Russia upbringing. The sunglasses will retail from $286 - $366 USD and are now available for pre-order with a March delivery date.

Retrosuperfuture is just one of the Italian brands the Moscow-bred designer has brought in for his newest product offerings. Rubchinskiy will also be releasing products created in collaboration with FILA, Kappa, and Sergio Tacchini. Rubchinskiy ‘s partnership with the four Italian brands began after the young designer was brought in by Pitti Uomo last season to show as a guest designer.

Retrosuperfuture was a perfect fit for a collaboration- the youthful sunglasses label, founded in 2007, is favoured by a swath of hip celebrities such as Rihanna, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry.
