Ten emerging designers have been shortlisted for this year’s Asos Fashion Discovery prize, which gives winners the opportunity to sell an edit of their collections on Asos plus a £50,000 cash reward.

Two brands will be chosen as winners by a judging panel composed of Asos executives, industry insiders, and fashion designers including Nick Beighton, Asos CEO; Gemma Shiel, founder of Lazy Oaf; Susie Lau, founder of Susie Bubble; and Elgar Johnson, fashion director at GQ Style.

There will be also a People’s Pick award, chosen by the public via an online vote.

The shortlisted brands include Sullen Girl, Krasimira Stoyneva, Katie Gementera, Wesley Harriot, Dresree Akorahson, CARBS, Bans Illustration, Fortie Label, LYPH and Tolu Coker.

The winners of the Fashion Discovery Prize will receive each £50,000 to help grow their brand, the opportunity to sell a selection of their collections on Asos for two consecutive seasons, and 50 hours of mentoring across retail, marketing, finance, legal and sourcing.

Meanwhile, the People’s Pick winner will sell an edit of their brand’s collection on Asos for one season.

The winners of the inaugural Fashion Discovery prize last year were London-based brand Hanger, which fuses British and Japanese influences; and latex lingerie brand Elissa Poppy.
