C.A.S.T names Dennis Beute as Chairman of the Board

The Dutch Centrum voor Accessoires, Schoenen en Tassen, also known as C.A.S.T., announced on 27 June that it has named Dennis Beute as Chairman of the Board.

Beute joined the C.A.S.T. board as a member on 16 April 2018 and will take over the role of Chairman from Gerard-Jan van Blokland, effective 1 July 2018. Van Blokland indicated earlier this year that he planned to resign as Chairman.

Beute said: “I look forward to working with the board to ensure that C.A.S.T. will also remain an attractive purchasing center for all parties in the future. The retail [landscape] is changing and C.A.S.T. is willing to change along with it. We are therefore always open to [groups of] entrepreneurs and suppliers who want to shift their business to Nieuwegein.”

The retail center added that there are currently a lot of changes taking place at C.A.S.T., including a change of owner as well as a renovation of the center. C.A.S.T. believes that this period especially will be a good time for Beute to take office, adding that the changes will strengthen its role as a valuable partner for retailers and suppliers.

In addition to the promotion of Beute, C.AS.T. also announced that Kristel Hooijer joined the company as member of the Board.

C.A.S.T. is a retail platform for footwear, bags, leather goods, travel products and accessories. C.A.S.T. operates as an indoor shopping center and has an area of 20,000 square metres. Operating from the Nieuwegein headquarters, agents; clothing importers; wholesalers; and representatives of domestic and foreign manufacturers present 600 brands via 160 showrooms.
