NEW YORK, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Avon Products Inc (AVP.N) reported a higher quarterly profit on Thursday 4 February, helped by demand in its Latin American and European markets and the addition of more representatives selling its cosmetics.

While high U.S. unemployment has made it easier for the world's largest direct seller of cosmetics to find new representatives, demand in its North American markets is still tepid.

Avon said its fourth-quarter net income rose to $269.4 million, or 62 cents a share, from $232.4 million, or 54 cents a share, a year earlier. The results included restructuring costs of about 6 cents a share.

Revenue at the company, whose representatives sell products such as Anew skin care and Jillian Dempsey makeup, rose about 13 percent to $3.15 billion. (Reporting by Dhanya Skariachan, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
