NEW YORK, July 16 (Reuters) - Cosmetic and perfume-dispenser maker AptarGroup Inc (ATR.N) on Thursday 16 July posted a 36 percent drop in second-quarter profit due to continuing fall in demand from the cosmetic market and currency effects.

AptarGroup Inc

Net profit fell to $28.5 million, or 41 cents a share, from $45.3 million, or 64 cents a share a year ago.

Sales fell 20 percent to $440.5 million.

The company also forecast a lower third quarter in the range of 44 cents to 49 cents per share compared to 57 cents a share in the prior year.
