A.F. Vandevorst returns to the ready-to-wear calendar this season

A.F. Vandevorst’s new strategy is settling into place slower than expected. The Belgian brand, piloted since its launch in 1997 by An and Filip Vandevorst, stopped its ready-to-wear operations last year. The brand turned its focus to its footwear line and to capsule clothing collections where craftsmanship was at the fore. The brand then turned to Paris Couture Week to present its collections.

However, this season, the brand will not show at Couture Week and instead it will temporarily re-join Paris Women’s Fashion Week in September, “even if it’s no longer ready to wear,” a spokesperson for the brand told FashionNetwork.com.

A.F. Vandevorst is currently working on a large scale project that is being kept a secret. The brand has experienced some organisational issues that mean that prevented it from having a collection ready by July when Couture Week takes place. The design duo will return to Paris’ ready to wear runway for the first time after leaving in 2016 before they returned to the French capital for Couture Week in July 2017.
